Perfume as a weapon of seduction

With Valentines around the corner, I am already anticipating and (fingers crossed) hope that you are too. If that’s the case, in this article you will find some ideas to express your (sexy) self through perfume.

No matter if this Valentines you stay at home watching Youtube alone or go on a date with a crush, sexy is a state of mind you can be in whenever you want, and for that perfume is a powerful tool to enamour yourself and others. Your perfume is the halo, the mysticism. It is the sensorial translation of your soul, your desire, your intention.

So, what if your intention is seduction? Whether you are single, married for 30 years, or just dating casually, the idea of expressing yourself through the subtle but potent art of perfume is something you should be thinking of. The truth is that perfume is an incredible way to stamp your mark: it is both animalistic and sophisticated as it traces back to our nature and the importance of the sense of smell in the primal game of seduction.

You and only you

My tip for choosing the perfume that you will use to entice your loved one or maybe the whole universe is that you have yourself in mind first. After all, you should also be ‘your loved one’ (thank you, Louise Hay). Look for something that is appealing to you first. Find out who you are, what is your mood for the season, what is the message you want to communicate and look at how a perfume can translate that. Also, trend followers are boring. Be you.

Be Unique

If you have a few options in mind and one seems to be everywhere – meaning you smell it in the office, coffee shop and club party – you should stick with something a bit more individual. Sometimes avoiding the best-seller and checking something a bit more rare, pays off as it captures a more intriguing and individualistic experience.

You don’t want to have a perfume that reminds others of most people they know. When looking for perfume, even with niche brands (that costs around E300 or more) people tend to ask for the best seller. But the best-seller doesn’t necessarily mean it is the best option for you. If you love a certain perfume and it happens to be a best-seller go and grab it, but don’t do it just because it is what everyone’s is going for.

Have fun!

Add your special twist to your fragrance by layering or just mixing them. This will create a more personal aura and it is very helpful if you happen to have or love an extremely popular perfume. Layering can be a bit confusing, but you can explore applying a scented moisturiser (there are a lot designer and niche perfume houses that produces hand creams, body butter, so on) and then applying perfume, or simply playing with different scents on different points of your body to create an unusual illusion. Whatever you want. Have fun!

Come on baby, light my fire

Here are some of the picks that I love to wear myself. These are just my tastes, but it doesn’t mean it is the right thing.

Also, this list has both women’s and men’s perfumes that I consider unisex, and the tips from the article are the same for whoever you are.

Feel free also to let me know in the comments what your picks are. Here are some of the picks that I love to wear myself. These are just my tastes, but it doesn’t mean it is the right thing.Let me know which one is your favorite. Let’s interact!

Here are the choices!

1. Angel by Thierry Mugler.
Very modern and rare, even though it was launched in 1992. I love the patchouli on my skin, also it evokes ideas in my mind that makes me feel in my element. It is dreamy, avant-garde and unique. Check the review here!

2.Womanity by Thierry Mugler.
As with Angel, Womanity is simply weird and memorable. Visceral sex-appeal. Now, for many, this is too much as a valentines pick perfume, but for me, seduction is also about being yourself unapologetically.

2. French Lover by Frederic Malle.
I love this for the retro-modern references. It is sexy in an elegant way and it makes me feel like I belong in an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

3. Noir Extreme by Tom Ford.
Edible rich man. This is it for mass appeal and it also has a je ne sais quoi that makes it original and unexpected.

4. Kenzo Homme, EDT by Kenzo.
Breezy and spiritual it is a perfect, especially if you happen to enjoy Valentines in the southern hemisphere where you can have a moon lid dinner with your romantic interest.

5. Molecule 01 By Escentric Molecules.

This is an ode to Iso E- Super and it is unisex. The perfume works as a skin enhancer and the cool thing about this one is that it works differently on everyone (most perfumes do, but this is reactive to your skin and body heat, and your chemistry). Also, great for layering.
